Brian McClees
Brian is the person the JDH design team runs through. He dispatches every appointment, personally trains every new hire, reviews every contract before it ships to production, and stays current on every new product JDH offers. Seven years at JDH. Ten in home improvement. The reason the right specialist shows up at the right home the first time.
Mechanical. HVAC. Fire Alarm. Then Home Improvement.
Brian was born and raised in Southern Maryland. He lives in Sunderland with his wife and four kids. His trade career started nowhere near remodeling.
He came up mechanical. First doing straight mechanical work, then moving into residential HVAC, then into commercial fire alarm and sprinkler systems. That path built the way he thinks about buildings today: systems that have to work together, code compliance you can't fudge, redundancy that matters when the house is under load.
In early 2019 Brian moved into home improvement full-time. He started in sales, moved into project management for a few years, and today runs the design team as its Design Team Manager. Seven of those years have been at JDH.
Brian holds a Maryland Door-to-Door Sales License and a Virginia Home Improvement License in his own name. He calls himself a jack of all trades and a master of none. The people who work with him call him the reason the design team runs on time.
The Right Specialist. The Right Home. Every Time.
The average roofing operation sends whoever is free to whoever calls. JDH does not. Brian is the person in between. He reads every new appointment as it comes in, matches the situation to the specialist whose trade expertise, temperament, and territory fit, and books the visit. It's the dispatch step in JDH's whole process: by the time a design specialist knocks on a door, the appointment has already been thought about by someone whose only job is thinking about appointments.
"Always remember to protect your home starting from the top then working your way down. Protection comes before aesthetics." Brian McClees · Design Team Manager
That's the frame Brian trains every JDH design specialist against. Roof, then the systems that keep water off it (siding, windows, doors, gutters), then the system that keeps energy inside it (attic insulation). Aesthetics matter, but they never come first. He wants every homeowner walking away from a JDH visit understanding the order the exterior of their home actually needs to be defended in.
- Dispatching. Reads every new lead, picks the design specialist whose expertise, territory, and style fit the homeowner, and books the appointment.
- Training. Runs weekly training for the entire design team, plus full onboarding for every new hire from day one.
- Product Knowledge. Stays current on every new material, manufacturer program, and installation practice JDH offers so the team can bring the newest options to homeowners.
- Contracting. Personally reviews the contract before signature. Catches missing scope, wrong pricing, and upsells that got left off.
- Financials. Verifies deal math and financing paperwork before handoff to production. Numbers have to be right before a job starts.
- Support & Handoffs. Signals production the moment a deal is clean so the homeowner gets a start date fast, which is also the moment the JDH warranties begin their coverage window. His job is done when the project is done, not when the contract is signed.
Brian measures his own job by one thing. A homeowner is handed cleanly from the design team into production, and their project runs through to completion without a gap. That's the target every appointment gets aimed at from the first phone call.

JDH Credentials →Nine years of home improvement sales experience, five years running the production field side, and a mechanical background before that. Brian has stood in every seat the JDH design specialists rotate through, which is why he can coach them from every angle.
Meet the Team →Every JDH Design Specialist Has Been Trained by Brian.
Weekly Team Training + Full New-Hire Onboarding.
Every JDH design specialist meets with Brian weekly to work through new products, new manufacturer programs, active projects, and case studies from the past week's inspections. Every new hire spends onboarding weeks with Brian personally before ever meeting a homeowner. It's the reason a JDH design specialist can walk in fluent across roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters, and insulation, instead of specialized in one.
Meet the Team Brian Trains →New Products, First.
Brian stays personally current on every new material and manufacturer program the industry releases, then brings it back to the team. When a homeowner asks about something that hit the market last quarter, the JDH design specialist has already trained on it.
Contract QC Before Signature.
Every JDH contract passes through Brian before it goes to the homeowner. Scope is verified, pricing is verified, financing is verified. Fewer surprises for the homeowner. Cleaner handoffs into production.
The Handoff to Production.
Brian views his role as successful when a homeowner is handed off cleanly to production and their project gets completed on time. Not when a contract is signed. When the work is done.
Sunderland, Maryland. Wife. Four Kids. Faith. Sports.
Brian lives in Sunderland, Maryland with his wife and four kids, ages 18, 12, 9, and 7. Between them there are always at least two seasons of sports going on at once, and Brian coaches the ones he can. Weekends move around practices, games, and whichever field the next tournament lands on.
Brian is a Christian and stays active in his local church community. He's an outdoorsman when he can get out; he fishes, plays golf, and follows lacrosse at every level, from youth ball on up.
The reason a Southern Maryland homeowner ends up with a Southern Maryland specialist is not by accident. Brian lives here, coaches here, and worships here. When he dispatches an appointment in Calvert County, he already knows the neighborhoods, the roof pitches, the storm history, and the pace of life. That's context you cannot buy.
