Why JDH

The kind of place where good people stay.

We are not a churn-and-burn shop. The way we treat our customers is the way we treat the people who do the work. Here is what that looks like in practice.

We invest in you

Paid product training from Owens Corning and ProVia. HAAG storm-damage certification for inspectors. We pay for the credentials that make you better at your job.

Real growth path

Crew to foreman to project manager. CSR to office manager. Design Specialist to sales lead. Promotions happen here because we would rather grow our own than hire around them.

Real benefits

401K with company match. Health insurance. Paid time off. Company vehicle and fuel card for field roles. The kind of package that lets you build a life around this job, not just survive on it.

Work that ships

We sell it, we install it, we stand behind it. You are paid for finished work that homeowners are happy with, not for activity that goes nowhere. 1,400+ five-star reviews say we know how to close the loop.

Foreman

Production Lead

Foremen run the job site. You read the contract before the truck rolls. You set up the crew, lay out the materials, walk the homeowner through what is happening today, and make sure the install is tight, clean, and ready to pass our final inspection. Foremen are the reason JDH ships 1,400 five-star jobs. We hire both in-house foremen and lead subcontractors who run their own crews.

  • Competitive pay tied to volume and quality

Crew

Production Installer

Crew is where the work happens. You are on the roof tearing off a worn-out three-tab, snapping chalk lines for the new course, nailing off the field, flashing the chimney, and bagging the debris before the homeowner gets home. If you take pride in a job that looks as good from the street as it performs in the next storm, you fit here. In-house and subcontractor crews both welcome.

The Package

  • Competitive pay per job or per hour, depending on role
  • Steady work pipeline year-round
  • 401K with company match (in-house)
  • Health insurance and paid time off (in-house)

Customer Service Representative

Phone Setter

Our CSRs are the first voice a homeowner hears. You pick up the phone, you find out what they need, and you book the right Design Specialist for the right day. You also call back the homeowners who filled out a form last night, follow up with the ones who went quiet, and keep the calendar tight enough that nobody is double-booked and nobody falls through. Fast, warm, accurate, and a step ahead. That is the job.

The Package

  • Competitive pay plus performance bonus for booked appointments
  • 401K with company match
  • Health insurance and paid time off
  • Paid training on our intake script, CRM, and dispatch
  • Office-based role at our St Leonard headquarters
  • Some flexibility on remote days for senior CSRs
  • Direct line to ownership when something needs fixing

What We Need

  • Phone presence that puts homeowners at ease in the first ten seconds
  • Active listening and quick judgment under live calls
  • Comfort with CRM software and a multi-line phone system
  • Calm under volume. Storm days mean a lot of inbound at once.
  • Organized notes and accurate handoffs to the field team
  • A team-first instinct. The sales team only wins when you set them up right.
  • Reliability. The phone rings whether or not you slept well.

Office & Admin

Operations

Our office team is the engine room. You coordinate between Design Specialists, foremen, suppliers, and homeowners. You schedule the installs, you confirm the permits, you chase the missing piece of paperwork, you make sure no ball gets dropped between a signed contract and a happy customer. This is not a quiet desk job. It is the role that decides whether the rest of the company looks competent.

The Package

  • Competitive pay tied to experience
  • 401K with company match
  • Health insurance and paid time off
  • Office-based role at our St Leonard headquarters
  • Software, training, and process you can shape and improve

General Interest

Always Open

If you have a skill we can use and a fit we have not posted yet, send us a note anyway. Estimators, project managers, trainers, marketing, sub-trade specialists, metal fabricators. We grow when the right person shows up, not just when the job opening goes live. Tell us what you do well and we will tell you whether we have a spot now or whether we want to talk again soon.

What to Tell Us

  • What you do best, and how you would describe it to a homeowner
  • The kind of company you want to work for
  • What you are walking away from, and what you are walking toward
  • Where you live and how far you can travel for work
  • Whether you are looking now or in three to six months

What Happens Next

  • We read every general-interest application personally
  • If there is a fit now, we reach out for a phone screen within a week
  • If the fit is soon, we tell you and we save your application
  • If the fit is not here, we are honest about that too
  • Good people deserve a real answer, not a black hole

The JDH Remodeling team in Maryland
Why people stay

The reasons people stop looking once they get here.

We have built JDH on long-tenured people. Foremen who started on the crew. CSRs who became office managers. Design Specialists who came in green and now lead the field. Here is what they tell us when we ask why they are still on the team.

01

The work is real and it ships

Every job ends with a homeowner saying thank you. That feedback loop is rare in this trade and it is the thing that keeps people here.

02

You can pick up the phone

Ownership answers. If a job goes sideways or a paycheck is off, you do not file a ticket. You get a call back.

03

The pipeline is full

We do not run dry between storms. Marketing fills the calendar. You show up, the work shows up, the paycheck shows up.

Frequently asked

Questions before you apply.

What does the hiring process look like?

Phone screen first. If that goes well, a working interview that matches the role: a ride-along for Design Specialists, a half-day on a real job site for Foreman and Crew, a paired shift on the phones for CSR, and an in-office working session for Office and Admin. We move fast. From first call to offer is usually inside two weeks.

Do you hire subcontractors?

Yes. We hire both in-house crews and lead subcontractors who run their own teams. Subs need their own insurance, a registered business, and a willingness to install to JDH standards. We provide the work pipeline, the materials, and the quality bar. You provide the craftsmanship and the cleanup.

Where do you work, and where do I need to live?

We serve Maryland and Northern Virginia, headquartered in St Leonard, MD. Field roles travel across our service area: Calvert, St Marys, Charles, Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, and Northern Virginia. Office roles work from St Leonard. You do not need to live in St Leonard, but field crews need to be within commuting range of a job site each morning.
